A two-days compact trip to Rompin, Mersing - southern part of Peninsular Malaysia. About 300 km south of Kuala Lumpur.
The first day was a bit dull due to long driving hours from Kuala Lumpur. Exhausted. We took the boat at about 9 am. Today the target was catching sailfish near the area of Berhala Island. The journey was about 1.5 hours (using 225hp single engine boat). The first spot is playing near fishing ‘unjam’ as we have to get freash bait to lure the monsters. Fortunately we got god sized live baits at no time.
After a few spots, we stopped at the north-western edge of Berhala Island and decided to try our luck here. Frenzy signs of sailfish we knowhere to be spotted during the early session.
During the afternoon, we got the first strike. Fahiz was the lucky one. After that, my turn. Fish on!!!. Was a 50++ kg monster for me. A new personal high. The top water dance was awesome!!. This was followed by Aiman and his nephew. Total catch was 4 (landed) versus 11 strikes. It was a lucky day to all of us.....
The best moment was catching a rare marlin (10++ kg) by Aiman's nephew whois, his first time catch in his first trip to the sea. A lucky newbie !!!
